Ombre embossing is something I've been meaning to try for a while, so I was actually already prepared with many different colors of powders. Most of my colored powders are shimmer powders, so I immediately thought of hummingbirds. To conserve powder, I tried my best to spoon small amounts of each color onto specific areas with a curved tool normally used for clay carving.
I resisted the urge (and it was a strong one) to add anything to the embossed images other than a stamped sentiment...I think a pretty technique like this deserves an empty stage. Here is a detail shot of the hummingbird...love this stamp!
